Review: Kid Rock - Rock’n’Roll Jesus

Some time in 98 the speakers screamed “My name is Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid” and on it went, a killer intro for an cool song. The follow up tanked and now he does solid records. Solid musically, if you like a mix of AC/DC, Allman Brothers and Lynnyrd Skynyrd - which I do. However, lyrically, the record is conflicted at best. The lyrics deal with himself and carry a touch of religion and profanity, expected from Bret Michaels (Poison) 1988 maybe, but a bit out of day. And they aren’t written well either.

Since I am more the mechanical music listener, focused on beat, rhythm and instrumentation it doesn’t bother me too much, but still, not a good effort.

All in all a 5, might listen again, but not more than twice a year.
