Back to hockey
When I applied for a student job at my current employer - about 6 yrs ago - I came with a nice black eye resulting from a crash during inline hockey practise. About 1 yr later, I gave up on coaching two classes, citing time reasons.
After some significant private emotions, come and gone back pains on Friday, I went up the attic on Saturday, went through three huge bags of sports equipment and...

No complaints
About a year ago a friend of a friend turned me on to the lectures of Buddhist monk Ajahn Brahm. I found the lecture on No Complaints quite relaxing.
Running
I did go for a run on Tuesday night. Due to various degree of sickness, scheduling and other things it has been 2 weeks since the last run. It was already 10.30pm but still, I had a shitty day. Managed about 2 rounds less then usual, I should get the Nike+ set back up and work on the setlist again.

21-06-08, Bruce Springsteen in Hamburg
Well, well, well, after a rocky trip to the arena (dad forgot his ticket at my flat, I needed to sell an extra ticket), we grabbed a beer and a bun and settled in our nosebleed seeds at 75EUR a pop. The tickets were a b-day present for my dad and I am only writing this to explain that I am not a die-hard Boss-fan, just an average connaisseur who likes Thunder Road, Freehold and some other tunes.

Review: Kid Rock - Rock'n'Roll Jesus
Some time in 98 the speakers screamed “My name is Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid” and on it went, a killer intro for an cool song. The follow up tanked and now he does solid records. Solid musically, if you like a mix of AC/DC, Allman Brothers and Lynnyrd Skynyrd - which I do. However, lyrically, the record is conflicted at best. The lyrics deal with himself and carry a touch of religion and...

New routine
Late Wednesday night while I was waiting for game 3 of the NHL playoffs to start I caught up with feeds in a folder called “training/education” and some stuff I had marked on instapaper.com. After digesting it all and a very relaxing band rehearsal on Thursday I decided to install a new routine on work mornings. A cup of coffee, Things and just a blank piece of paper to visualize the...

30 minutes on a Sunday afternoon
Beautiful weather, not too hot. No problems getting through the 30 mins. Question now is do I increase the frequency or the length of the workout. Six Pixels of Separation and Social Media PReview were on the iPod.

2G iPod and I at the Alster again, mixed podcast selection, but nice weather and no physical pains. Met Wolfgang on the way.

another lunch-time run
this was one of the better runs lately. Mitch Joel’s interview with Garr Reynolds (Six Pixels of Separation 102) was very calming, followed by the beginning of JaffeJuice 108 (Mitch will catch Joe soon). No trouble at all running the 30mins and I even went a bit faster than last week.

Just another lunch break
My resurrected iPod died after 5 mins, so I ran to my usual turning point and back, returning 3 mins earlier than usual. Faster w/o Gillmor Gang? I would point to the weather and the fact that the training finally shows, but who knows. Plan to do 2 more this week, will get wife’s Nano to create new curves.
now everybody post their weight in pounds and put “@ fatblogging” in front

Mr. Big - Alive and Kickin
This used to be one of my favorite tracks. Only now I noticed that there is clapping going on in the last chorus, yikes.
Finally with iPod again, last two runs were just with cell phone and Newsgang live. On the iPod still the old playlist, but may be time for adjustments.

Current playlist
Aside from running with NewsGang, I did update the playlist a bit. It worked fine on Sunday, but I am still not 100% happy. Maybe I need a faster and a slower one. At the moment it goes like this: Poison - Valley of lost souls TM Stevens - I’m a believer Lynch Mob - River of love Symphony X - Inferno Mr. Big - Alive and Kickin No Doubt - Happy Now Linkin Park - Faint Dream Theater - The...

Proud of myself, went out despite heavy rain. Again no music, this time Newsgang II.
This time no playlist but Gillmor Gang which accounts for the slower overall pace.
Beautiful weather.
Same playlist. the curve is a bit wobbly, I ran during my lunch break, had to find my way around a bit.

Back in the game after a hasty December. A bit too slow for the old playlist, but I fear I have to kick the Badlands and Pride & Glory tracks.
